Addie Jordon graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Tech University where she double majored in Flute Performance and Music Education. After graduation, she moved to the DFW area where she was a middle school band director for 13 years in Lewisville and Frisco ISDs. When her son was born in 2020, Ms. Jordon transitioned from band directing to teaching flute lessons, masterclasses, and band clinics. She LOVES working with middle school students and is so excited to share her passion for music with the amazing students at PHMS! In her spare time, Ms. Jordon loves traveling, reading, swimming, and spending time with her husband, David and son, Brayden.

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Jessica Wu is a classically trained flutist that enjoys exploring a diverse range of repertoire. She enjoys collaborating with other performers in chamber ensemble settings as well as working with composers on their pieces. Passionate about pedagogy, she is constantly striving to better herself so that she can be the best teacher for her students. Jessica has been teaching private lessons since 2014 and also taught K-5 general music for one year.

She has obtained a Performance Diploma from Boston University as well as a Master of Music Degree from the Longy School of Music and Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Houston, with a specialization in Music Education and Applied Flute. Her primary teachers have been Peggy Russell, Sergio Pallottelli, and Renée Krimsier. Jessica is currently attending the University of North Texas, pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts under the tutelage of Terri Sundberg
Allyson Kreider currently attends the University of North Texas for her D.M.A in Flute Performance. As a Teaching Assistant, she performs regularly with the UNT Center Woodwind Quintet. Allyson teaches and performs regularly throughout the DFW metroplex.

Multiple woodwind instrumentalist Tyler Tashdjian is from East Providence, Rhode Island. He holds the rank of Sergeant in the United States Army Reserve where he is enlisted in the 395th Army Band as principal flute/piccolo. Tyler is a member of the woodwind quintet, concert band, clarinet quartet, and big band, alternating playing various woodwind instruments. Holding an Army Commendation Medal for his work in Recruiting and performance on multiple woodwinds and an Army Achievement Medal for his accomplishments on flute and piccolo, Tyler is an avid performer with a passion for chamber music.

He was invited to perform at the 2nd annual conference for the American Single Reed Summit and has recently started the Aaru Reed Quintet based in Denton, Texas. As a doubler, he is comfortable playing flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, and bassoon professionally. He has been principal flute of the “Governor’s Own” 88th Army Band, was a two-year consecutive concerto competition winner at the University of Rhode Island on clarinet, has performed in multiple big bands, including notable performances at the Newport Jazz Festival as well as with the McKinney Philharmonic Orchestra, and actively plays in pit orchestras around the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Tyler is currently an adjunct faculty member at Texas A&M University-Commerce, where he enjoys teaching multiple methods courses, including those for each of the five woodwind instruments. His most recent accomplishments include being named a 2023 recipient of the Colonel Finley R. Hamilton Outstanding Military Musician Award and being named an AGBU scholar with the opportunity to study flute with Arman Abrahamian of the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra in Yerevan during the summer of 2023. After receiving a Bachelor of Music from the University of Rhode Island and a Master of Music from the University of Delaware in instrumental performance, Tyler is now pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in multiple woodwind performance, studying flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, and bassoon at the University of North Texas and resides in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Tyler’s principal teachers include Mary Karen Clardy, Eileen Grycky, Jung Choi, Phillip Paglialonga, Christopher Nichols, Juliet Lai, Eric Nestler, Bill Jones, and Darrel Hale

Alex Meaux is a freelance bassoonist and teacher in the DFW metroplex. He currently plays with the Mesquite Symphony, Lone Star Wind Orchestra, and the Dallas Asian Winds . An avid performer of new music and chamber music, Alex participated in multiple chamber groups focused on commissioning and performing works by living composers. Through his passion for opportunities at the youngest ages, Alex has become the Director of Beginner Studies for Bocal Majority. Work with this position includes facilitating beginner camps/programs across the region. Alex holds degrees from Stephen F. Austin State University in music education,

and Bowling Green State University in bassoon performance. He is currently finishing his doctorate at the University of North Texas in bassoon performance. His primary teachers include Kathleen Reynolds, Jorge Cruz, and Susan Nelson.
His current reed trio has been selected to perform at multiple conferences including the 2022 International Double Reed Society conference in Boulder Colorado and 2024 in Flagstaff Arizona . Active in advocacy for equity and inclusion, Alex is re-scaffolding the frameworks of the traditional K-12 bassoon curriculum with his current studio in Frisco, TX. These active revisions include more inclusive instrument selection, adaptive lesson planning, and regular inclusivity training/education.

Bassoon instructor, Haley Blanchard is a graduate of Baylor University. Ms. Blanchard was a faculty member of the Baylor Summer Band and Orchestra camps and Bocal Majority summer camps. As a performer she has served as second bassoon of the Waco Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Blanchard is in her third year at Pioneer Heritage Middle School.

Originally from Taiwan, Shih-Yen Chen received her DMA in clarinet performance at the University of Texas at Austin. Miss Chen currently serves as second clarinet in Richardson Symphony Orchestra. Considered an active performer, Miss Chen has participated in various solo and ensemble performances. She has been heard in four continents with UT Wind Ensemble world tour. An advocate of new music, Miss Chen is the clarinetist of Hear No Evil, a Perriot ensemble that regularly performs the music of our time in Austin area. She has performed on a number of music series and festivals including Tetractys, Beerthoven, Golden Hornet, Excessive Noise, the New Music and Art Summit, Texas Music Festival, Chautauqua Music Institute, Pierre Monteux Festival. Chen was also invited to perform “Kheir: Fantasy for clarinet and Sinfonietta”

by Max Grafe with UT New Music Ensemble and "Der Klein Harlekin" by Karlheinz Stockhausen in UT Wind Ensemble concert as a soloist. In addition, Miss Chen has performed Clarinet Concerto by Aaron Copland with National Taiwan Normal University in NTNU Grand Auditorium and Song-Yi Concert Hall in Taiwan.
Miss Chen was named national third prize of Music Teacher National Association Young Artist Competition, 1st prize in NTNU concerto competition, winner of Ann P. Winkelstein scholarship, Nancie Monteux Barendse Scholarship, and Kung Hsue She scholarship.

Pedro Garcia is a music educator with over a decade of experience working with students in fields such as music history, theory, business, and the clarinet. Mr. Garcia’s goal with each student is to provide for them a rounded musical education that will allow his student’s passions to grow beyond the classroom.
A native of Frisco, TX, Mr. Garcia is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Musical Arts in Clarinet at the University of North Texas, where he is studying with Dr. Kimberly Cole Luevano. Mr. Garcia also serves as a teaching fellow at the university in music entrepreneurship. He can be heard performing with the North Texas Wind Symphony on the album “Hope” on an assortment of clarinets. |
Prior to this, Mr. Garcia received his Masters of Music in Clarinet Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he taught musicology as a teaching assistant and served as the principal clarinetist in both the Wind Ensemble and Symphony orchestra. During his time in Wisconsin, Mr. Garcia worked closely with the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra as a chamber music coach; he also had numerous students audition into the program.
By combining his knowledge and experience in a variety of musical topics with his teaching, Mr. Garcia is able to effectively inform and instruct each student that he works with and help mold them into strong musicians.

Tyler Richey grew up in Abilene, Texas, and holds a degree in both Music Education and Jazz Performance from the University of North Texas. During his undergraduate years, he was a member of the Three O'Clock Lab Band, the Symphonic Band, and numerous small groups and large ensembles.
As a freelancing saxophonist, Mr. Richey has performed in various groups such as the Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hunter Sullivan Band, and the Les Elgart Orchestra. Since graduating in 2014, he has actively conducted master classes and has served as a private lesson teacher in the Frisco, Plano, Carrollton, and Richardson school districts. |
Currently Mr. Jansen maintains an active performing schedule as a member of the McKinney Philharmonic and is engaged across DFW in a variety of performances regularly working alongside members of the Dallas and Fort Worth Symphonies. A passionate educator, Mr. Jansen maintains a large private studio and his students have enjoyed a range of success qualifying for TMEA All-State, Tanglewood, Blue Lake, NYO, GDYO and others

Stuart Womble is a professional horn player and teacher in the Dallas area. He received his Bachelors in Music Education Summa Cum Laude from Tennessee Technological University and his Master's in Horn Performance from Florida State University. Additionally, he spent time studying in Chicago with Members of the Chicago Symphony while playing with the Chicago Civic Orchestra (training orchestra of the Chicago Symphony).
As a performer Mr. Womble is a member of the orchestras of Las Colinas, Garland, and Arlington and has also performed with the Dallas Winds, the Irving Symphony, and the Richardson Symphony. |
Prior to moving to Texas, he had played with many orchestras in the Southeast. These would include the Jacksonville (FL) Symphony, Charleston (SC) Symphony and Sarasota (FL) Orchestra. He has performed with artists throughout the classical, pops and jazz world, including Joshua Bell, Andre Watts, Marcus Roberts, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, and even Ben Folds and Bobby McFerrin. He has also been privileged to perform under the batons of some of those world's most respected conductors in both the orchestra and band world, including Daniel Barenboim, Pierre Boulez, Sir Andrew Davis, Roberto Abbado, Timothy Rehnish, Col. John Bourgeois, Ray Cramer, Paula Crider, Harry Begian, and many others.
As a teacher, he has had dozens of Texas All State students, as well as hundreds of All Region students in middle and high school. He has had students accepted into some of best horn studios in the country including Northwestern University, Southern Methodist University, Rice University, Michigan,and Indiana University. He has also had many students go on to study music education and performance at other schools such as Texas Tech, Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and many others.

Trevor Foy is from Bluefield, West Virginia, and has played the trumpet since he was 10. Mr. Foy was lucky enough to find his love for the instrument early, hoping to one day play in an orchestra just like his teacher! Throughout grade school and college, he studied off and on with Dr. Mary Woodbury, Former Principal Trumpet of the Honolulu Symphony and the first female trumpet player of The United States Army Band, Pershing’s Own. During High School, he attended the world-renowned Interlochen summer camp for trumpet performance where he played for some of the best players in the world such as Caleb Hudson, John Aley, and Vince Di
Martino. |
He attended West Virginia University in 2017 to study with Dr. John Winkler, Principal Trumpet of the Wheeling Symphony, Dr. Timothy Dewitt, Former Second Trumpet of the West Virginia Symphony, and Dr. Robert Sears. There he performed with the Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, and subbed with regional orchestras. He moved to Frisco, Texas in 2022 and has been studying with Kevin Finamore, Assistant Principal of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.

Steven Stark was fortunate to study with, Carnage Hall soloist, Jake Jacoby, the #1 call trumpet guy for both the NBC and CBS orchestra, who also played with the Benny Goodman, and Les Brown big bands. Additionally, as a graduate of University of North Texas, I was able to study with the dean of Trumpets, Dr. John Haynie and Leonard Candelaria University of Alabama Trumpet professor, as well as other really good teachers.
During Mr. Stark's performance career, he has been a freelance professional, that afforded him the opportunity to perform with the Dallas Symphony orchestra a couple of times, countless recordings and jingles (some for Warner Brothers) and even got to perform with the Nelson Riddle orchestra. In his twenties, Mr. Stark even toured with America's band throughout South America for a season. |

Cean Robinson, a North Texas native, is an active freelance trumpet player and music educator in the DFW area. Mr. Robinson recently finished his M.M. at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana where he studied with Mr. John Rommel, and his B.M at the University of Oklahoma, where he studied under Dr. Karl Sievers.
While at Indiana University, Cean performed with several groups including the Indiana University Chamber Orchestra and the Latin Jazz Ensemble directed by Grammy nominated artists Wayne Wallace and Michaels Spiro and can be heard on their album titled Canto America, which received a Grammy nomination for Best Latin Jazz Album of 2017. |
While at the University of Oklahoma, Mr. Robinson served as Principal of the Symphony Orchestra and Wind Symphony, as well as a frequent soloist for the OU Jazz Ensemble. Professionally, Mr. Robinson has appeared with many groups around the DFW area and maintains a steady performance schedule of classical and commercial music. He is currently a member of the Tarnished Brass, Brass Quintet which is a group comprised of five performers and educators around the Metroplex, as well as the Pecos River Brass Big Band, which is a twenty-member group that performs for a variety of concert jazz venues and private functions around the DFW area. He also has been a soloist for the Texas Instruments Big Band. Currently Mr. Robinson lives in Lewisville TX, and teaches in both the Frisco and Lewisville Independent School Districts.

Robert McDaniel has been playing euphonium for 25 years and obtained Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Euphonium Performance from the University of North Texas while studying with the world-renowned Dr. Brian Bowman. While at UNT, he advanced to the semifinal or final round of two premiere service band auditions. From 2010-19, Robert was a band director in Sulphur Springs, Sharyland, and Arlington ISDs, and now teaches private lessons full-time in the North Dallas area. In his spare time, he enjoys planning and taking trips, eating, reading, and playing with his cat, Sam.

Brett Lamel completed his masters degree in jazz studies from the University of North Texas in 2018 and his bachelors degree in Music Education from the University of Delaware in 2015. While at the UNT, he performed and recorded with both The One O’Clock Lab Band and the Two O’Clock Lab Band. With the One O’Clock, Brett performed with Christian McBride, Chris Potter, Doc Severinsen, Marshall Gilkes, Rashawn Ross, Jimmy Heath, and more. Brett can be heard as a featured soloist on the One O’Clock’s full length recording, Lab 2018, on Alan Baylock’s composition “Without a Doubt,” which will be released this fall.

While at North Texas, Brett also served as a Teaching Fellow in the F2017-S2018 school year. Through his fellowship, Brett directed the Seven O’Clock Lab Band, one of the jazz ensembles at UNT. He also taught the freshman level Jazz Trombone Fundamentals course.
Today, Mr. Lamel remains an active performer, composer, and educator. He performs in many top 40 cover bands, as well as in jazz groups as a bandleader and a sideman. He conducts masterclasses in jazz improvisation and brass technique, while also serving as a private trombone instructor for Frisco ISD.

Riley Borklund is an active freelance musician and educator in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Ms. Borklund obtained her Bachelor of Music degree from Vanderbilt University, studying trombone performance and brass pedagogy. She currently maintains a large low brass studio in the Frisco, Carrollton-Farmer's Branch, and Garland Independent School Districts.

Austin Crumrine is a recent graduate of The Ohio State University where he earned a Doctor of Musical Arts in tuba performance while serving as Graduate Teaching Associate for the tuba/euphonium studio. He received a BM in tuba performance from the University of North Texas (UNT) and a MM in tuba performance from Baylor University. While at Baylor, Dr. Crumrine served as the teaching assistant for the Wayne Fisher Jazz Program at Baylor University. He has performed with many top-notch collegiate ensembles including the North Texas Wind Symphony, Baylor Symphony Orchestra, and additionally has performed concerts with the UNT One O’Clock Lab Band. In the summer of 2013, Dr. Crumrine studied under world-renowned tuba soloist Øystein Baadsvik at Le Domaine Forget in Quebec, Canada.

As a specialist in symphonic and music theater performance, Nathaniel has worked with many Dallas-Fort Worth area groups including the Dallas Symphony, Dallas Winds, Fort Worth Symphony, Uptown Players, and Imprint Theaterworks. Nathaniel currently holds the position as Principal Percussionist with the Abilene Philharmonic and also held a position with the Midland-Odessa Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, Nathaniel has worked with the groundbreaking and Grammy winning chamber groups Eighth Blackbird and the Canadian Brass. Nathaniel completed his Masters of Music in 2012 at Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor's of Music with Distinction from the Eastman School of Music in 2009. During his education, Nathaniel received the Avedis Zildjian scholarship twice and was a finalist in the 2012 Meadows Concerto Competition. Nathaniel and his wife, Laura, a singer and actress in Dallas-Fort Worth, have one wonderful daughter, Isla.
He was also a member of the 2015 Disneyland All-American College Band where he performed on sousaphone, electric bass and upright bass. Dr. Crumrine served as principal tubist for the Hot Springs Music Festival Orchestra for their 2018 season. In the summer of 2019, he placed third for the International Tuba Euphonium Association’s Rich Matteson Jazz Tuba Competition. Dr. Crumrine enjoys playing many different styles of music including classical, jazz, soul, rock, pop and contemporary worship. His primary teachers are James Akins, Dr. Kent Eshelman and Don Little.

Matthew Tremmel attended the University of Kentucky, studying with James Campbell for his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. At UK he was involved in nearly all aspects of the music program, performing with the Percussion Ensemble, Steel Band, Wind Symphony, Marching Band, Orchestra, Choirs, and Gamelan ensemble. He has written and arranged for percussion ensemble, including several pieces played at public performances and senior recitals at UK, and various high schools throughout Kentucky and Texas.
